So i have some speakers that can handle "25W 120W continuous into 8 ohms" and my receiver puts out, for the fronts, "90W + 90W @ 8 ohms" (which im guessing means 90W for left channel, 90W for right channel) So if i put my receiver's volume to the max, which i do a lot because i have friends over and we listen to DVD audio and stuff. Would this not then damage my speakers? Does the word "continuous" hint that those numbers are some sort of RMS rating? Btw, i get no distortion at max volume. does that hint that no damage can be done right now to these speakers?
