Following up on my last post about my problems, I think I have found the answer. I think my Motherboard is dead. After frisky symptoms on my new rig like random crashes and low GPU performance for sometime, my motherboard finally crapped out on me yesterday. I could not get any video signal on the mobo with my 680 or the Onboard video (with the GPU removed). I can hear the system post and boot into Windows but no Video.:(.... I pretty much smell a damaged Chipset so I guess RMA time!.... I have heard horror stories about ASUS RMA service and that is why I never wanted to go through this hell so I protected my rig like my child! but now I am screwed. Hope everything goes well.
 
Do you see any physical abnormalities on any of the mobo capacitors? I had some blown before. Only on older mobos though.
 
Actually from my understanding if you have VIP service from Asus you're actually pretty well off. You get VIP from either buying one of their red motherboards or a Sabertooth.
 
If ya let the magic smoke out ya cant put it back in. I have seen a lot of the older southbridge chipsets overheat but only a couple that actually burnt the chip itself (one a desktop, one an overhyped Dell server at the time). A lot of times it was hard to distinguish the cause without having to put your fingers on them just to check. I know an infrared thermal sensor would be best, but out here in the boonies you work with what ya got.
 
I've seen (and heard) caps explode on my Biostar AM2 mobo, and when that happens there is a lot of evidence left behind :) I had the tops of the caps burst and white goo come out. But I also heard if the caps are a bit swollen it may mean they are gone. Or if there is anything at their bottom as well.
