In theory, it should work fine. Has anyone tried to daisy chained chenbro's expanders yet? Because of issues with chaining the HP expanders, I'll be moving away from them for the time being.
The Chenbro has 2 external SFF-8088 connectors. The docs says "In" and "Out" for them. They seem to work fine as either and non-specific ports for connections.
This is the Chenbro CK23601 attached to a 1680i running zfs/OI on an ESXi box. The HP SAS actually work perfectly, it's just that I've run out of ports which is forcing me to pick up another expander board (for the additional chassis).
