I'm looking for some daisy-chainable FW enclosures, as the topic reads. My main rig is currently down (either mainboard or RAM and no spares to test), but I've got a new iBook on the way, arriving Monday.

I need to take the two HDDs currently in my PC (80GB, 120GB), along with my DVD burner, and connect them to my iBook. Once I get all the pictures, movies, etc. transferred from my PC HDDs to my iBook I'll reformat the drives and use them as additional storage.

I'm moving to Moscow in August and I'd like to be able to attach all three of those external enclosures to my iBook at the same time for extra storage and the like. I simply can't carry a desktop across the ocean with me, as much as I'd love to.

Any recommendations on affordable daisy-chainable enclosures? I'm OK with USB 2.0 as well, but I don't know if those can be chained. I found a couple of enclosures, but they were $230 empty, which is ridiculous. Any input appreciated.

I'm trying to cut down on the amount of crap I have to haul across 2.5 continents, though. But damn you and your common sense thinking! :D

One of my major concerns is having a bunch of stuff that has to be externally powered. Obviously, Russia doesn't run on the same power and plug system that we do, and I'll be living in a small dorm room where I really can't have 10 power strips and a slew of converters plugged in everywhere. If a hub is the most cost-effective and "easiest" method, then I'm up for that - if not, I'm hoping some enclosures for ~$50 are available and chainable.
