im still rolling on my

AMD Athlon X2 6400+ at 3.2 ghz

6GB of corsair ddr2 1066mhz

ATI HD R7700 Core Edition GHOST

anyway

it seems to struggle on battlefield 2 quite a lot, obviously the cpu is really holding the system back, the car can handle it ok, seen as i upgraded my 9800gtxxx to this, and it handled things a lot better.

would it make a difference overclocking the cpu slighly to 3.5 ghz? or should i struggle and save for one of those amd bulldozer cpu's, there going cheap now and i think that should handle battlefield.

hex or dual, ccl are selling them off :D

random boring noob thread i know, but i spend my money on cars, and now its having an engine rebuild im back on gaming :D

Thanks again

A little difference yes but not enough to fully alleviate your problem.

What mobo do you have? The one in your sig?

EDIT: CCL? What does that mean?

and no mate, i will need to purchase a new board and ram aswell, the new am3+ use ddr3 :(
Then no point in going AMD then if you're gonna get a new CPU, mobo, and RAM. Might as well go Intel since even cheap Intel CPUs will outperform many AMD CPUs when it comes to games. Something like the Pentium G850 or G860 would be a good starting point.

Also, the PSU you have is also a little shady so I'd recommend a new PSU just in case. The Antec Neo Eco 400C 400W would be enough.
