heres his stats:

intel 2.4C (on stock hs/not oced)
abit is7 mobo
2 60 gig wd hard drives
1 sony dvd burner
1 dvd player
sound blaster live
geforce 2 vid card
512 geil dual channel/ pc3200
420w raidmax psu that came with the raidmax case.

thx in advanced :D

What did he change.

If you unchange it does it still work.

Luck.........:D

hey i just posted the same kind of thing earlier
i'm trying to find the same thing out. nothing beeps when you turn it on but the fans all run and the cd drive lights up

thats about it

can anyone help us?

Check cables, clear CMOS, un-do whatever changes you did... See if you can smell if there is anything burned, or caps blown, etc. Nothing else, remove the board from the case, take everything off, add in cpu, 1 stick of memory, and a video card, see if anything changes.

Strip down to minimum specs.
Remove all drives and any cards not needed to post.
Leave in only one stick of memory.
Try booting.
Any change.

Try removeing the vid card and booting.
Do you get the correct bios beep codes for a bad vid card.

Replace and do the same thing with the memory.

Remove from case and check that nothing is shorting out by trying to boot on a non-conducting surface.

Thats about as far as you can go without a second computer to swop know working parts in.

Luck..........:D

the last person to use the computer burnt a cd....
then turned it off
after that it didn't work

just took out the memory, got the beep.
put memory back in, took video card out, got the beep.
put everything back in, no beeps. no post.
everything is pretty tight and secure, checked that.

i really dont wanna take out the mobo if i dont have to, it was working just fine yesterday.

any other ideas appreciated.

edit: btw, my dad or me didnt open up the case and change anything since we built it, and it was workin just fine then.

try turning off the PSU for a while and come back try to turn it on again and see what happens.

try just disconnecting the dvd burner and dvd drive. something might have shorted in them and boot with those drives connected

yeah, just tried takin power out all of the drives except for the c drive. same stuff.

btw i appreciate the help.
