D4 pump troubles... or is it PSU?

I got DD labeled Liang D4 pump (aka MCP650) and after a couple months of usage it began failing to start after a cold boot. I usually turn my computer off for a night (I dunno maybe I shouldn't) and a few times already the pump didn't start with the computer after boot. I tried turning comp off and on using switch on PSU but it doesn't help. Only when I pull out pump's molex connector and plug it back in the pump starts. PSU is Antec 430

Here's what I don't understand. All PSU connectors seem to be alright. They work in HDDs, videocard, DVD drives etc. Pump for some reason doesn't like any of them (i.e. doesn't start on any connector pretty much) but it does work fine once I manage to get it going after pull-plug it in back sequence. All cables are not dangling around, they are tucked in and zip-tied when possible, and they are not moving when computer is on. the 12v rail seems to be alright (although it shows as 11.7v in computer management software, computer is stable), there is enough juice supplied for the pump.

So here's the question: is that PSU or the pump? Connectors don't seem to be a problem since they work with other components and the pump itself once I reconnect it.

Thanks for any input.

Try booting without any drives or fans plugged in. Maybe keep a fan plugged in for the radiator but thats it. If the problem goes away get a bigger power supply. If not it's probably the pump. You can always try unpluggin everything and manually starting the power supply. There are two wires that need to be jumped. Post back if you need help doing this.

It seems random. So far, it appears when I turn on the computer when it's somewhat cold (staying off at 50F/10C room temp for a few hours) the pump won't start, otherwise it works quite happily. Might be wrong tho.
