could someone tell me how to run an ingame benchmark for Doom 3 and Hlaf-Life 2. Thanks
 
Doom 3 press CTRL ALT ~ while you are in the game
then type in timedemo demo1
and hit enter

Play CS:Source
and in the main menu there is the source strees test
 
HL2 doesn't ship with any built in benchmarks, and since it continuously updates, older recorded demos (like the ones used [h]ere) no longer work. Your best bet is to just record your own.

1. enable the console by going to options, keyboard, advanced and check enable developer console
2. start a new game or load a saved game point
3. press ~ to bring down the console and type record demoname (use whatever name you want instead of "demoname")
4. play through the level as long as you want
5. press ~ and type stop.

you can now benchmark with your new recorded demo by typing ~, then timedemo demoname (again, whatever name you used instead of "demoname")
