hi all

i have downloaded a file with the d01 extension with a setup exe, when i click on the setup exe nothing happens, can anyone tell me how i go about installing the software from these files - .d01 extension?

thanks!

i thought that meant the actual .exe was split across multiple files. i used to use a program called hjsplit to recombine multiple files back in to the original whole file.

but this is only one file with 1.6gig and the exe file is about 467kbs. So the d01 file has most of the data in it.

I looked at that before.. I seriously doubt it's any of those, though.

What are you trying to run the setup file on? If it's a 64-bit system, it could be a 16-bit setup file that won't work, and running it under a 32-bit OS or in a 32-bit virtual machine might allow you to get the data. If it's some niche installer that uses a proprietary archive format then there may be no other tools to open it.

I would try downloading PowerISO and ISO buster and seeing if either of them can access it.

Without knowing the context of the file, it's next to impossible to know how to fix the problem.

these are all the files

i got from piratebay

flights/GEXUC_Yellowstone.rar 524 KiB
/flights/GEXUSCAN_Washington_State_Mountain_Rocks.zip 264 KiB
/flights/GEX_UC_FlightPack1.exe 3 MiB
/GEX_UCeN_Setup.D01 2 GiB
/GEX_UCeN_Setup.exe 446 KiB

when i click the exe file a black dos window comes up for half a second and quits.
