"D" to 1000GHz!!

Since the other thread is now finished, I thought I'd start a new thread!

"D" to ___ Rules:

1. Must be new MHz/GHz added after 12:01am EST 3/22/05
2. OCs count only as addition GHz. (Example: P4 2.4 to 3.0 adds 0.6 GHz)
3. In your post, sum your new GHz and subtract from the total remaining.
4. If you underclock your CPU, due to heat,etc,etc, add your GHz difference (Example: P4 2.4 OCed to 3.0, taken back to stock, is -0.6 GHz, so you add that to the total, rather than subtract

Instead of another D to 1000 thread/challenge, why don't we have set timeframe and a challenge to see how many ghz we can add in that time? For example, how many ghz can the [H]orde add over 2 weeks? A month?

I agree. Another generic D thread is somewhat boring. We need something a little different to keep up interest.

so like a D to 500 thread? ie add 500 machines as fast as possible?

maybe keep a GHz counter, just for old times' sake, but run it by machine numbers instead of GHz numbers.

or hell, lets do a D to 1000. why not?

Machine count is good idea. 0 to 1000 is done so a different challange is needed.

Were it me, I'd close the thread and start a new one with CPU count. Note I said CPU count and not instance count. Yeah I know that all boxen are not equal but Ghz seems to suffer from the same problem. To throw a wrench in the process, might be interesting to see how many AMD vs. Intel boxes are working on this.
