Cutting ends off cables disrupts power?

Hi, I have a P182SE and I'm trying to fit the back side panel on, but some of the sata cable end pieces are too thick, causing a buldge (and I broke 3/6 cheap ass plastic links off and am now waiting for my super glue to dry). So my question is, can I cut the plastic end pieces off and not cause power for the whole chain to get fux0r'd? Thanks

First, don't cut anything while the power is on - unplug from the wall. Second, any cable you do cut, make sure you insulate the end after so it does short out onto anything else. Third, I don't understand why you have to cut the cable in the first place, can you post a picture to expain better.

I can understand your problem, 90deg SATA plugs can take up alot of space. and alot of cases don't have much of it between the MB tray and the side panel.

Yes you can cut off the connectors you dont need without any problems. But take precautions like Technophobe suggested. But remember, Power Supplies are not a one time use item, when you upgrade at a later time you may need those connectors that you have chopped off, and then your going to be looking for extensions.
