Cutting a case "down to size?"

Hey guys.
I've been comtemplating making an external enclosure for a watercooling system. After some twiddling around on the web, it dawned on me that is would look REALLY cool if I could cut a wavemaster case, and use only the bottom portion (right under where the door is).

Problem is...I have not the foggiest clue on how to go about this. Has anyone done similar on any other cases? I seem to remember one mod project done by the name of Buddha, something that took a standard Chenming dragon case, and turned it into a "nav comp" from the alien series movies. I just can't find it for the life of me now.

So....any ideas or linkage y'all could hit me with would be great.
