Hi all. I need to customize the win log on dialog box to support another button.

Basically when you press ctrl + alt + delete and the dialog comes up , or when you boot up a windows machine and you have the windows login box - I need a nother button that will basically open up IE.

Any ideas?
 
So you want to launch IE from the logon screen without supplying any credentials?

You would probably need to hack winlogon.exe - good luck with that. You're probably better off learning about unattended windows installs and figuring out a way to have Windows automatically log on and start up IE with a severely crippled GUI through GPO. You wont be able to provide the opportunity for logging on to the computer though - it'l automatically log in and launch IE.

You might also want to look into WinPE - though it's not really intended to be used as a kiosk OS
