Customizable QPacks

Hey all,

New to the SFF world (somewhat) and am looking to build a new SFF. I really like the design of the QPack cases, and am interested in getting one of those.

Now I know newegg and other places carry the cases, but are there any places where THEY customize the case? I just figure it would be easier to order from one place and have them throw in the customizable pieces instead of me finding them and ordering it all separate. Is this what people usually do?

Basically I'm just looking for a QPack and I want to add in some glitter effects that will show it off :p

I saw that link but that's a water cooled case that I'm not sure my budget can afford - I don't know too much about water cooling anyways.

The only thing I am really looking for is lights / lighted fans / cables that fit with the QPacks, but are those something you can buy on newegg (or somewhere else) and just custom fit to the SFF?

I will be customizing it myself - maybe not as much as some people though, but to start I want to play around with some glitter effects :p

I really am just looking for where to start I guess, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know if I should be just buying a case, and then looking for extras for it, or if I should be buying it with the extras.

I sound like a noob. lol
 
what i did was get the case, install the components, including the Enermax Liberty PSU to replace the qpacks crappy one and then after a while i got some nice cathodes as well as a new case fan and a zalman 7700cu for the cpu

ive also always wanted to go water cooling but i really cant be arsed, maybe on summer though heh
 
do you mean you want someone to sell you the case with all the parts installed? There are a few companies that do that.
 
i'm going to purchase and install the parts myself, but i see that people have lights and what not in their cases. so i am wondering if that is all purchased separately or if it's part of the case-bundle when you purchase it.

seems as though people buy their cases from someone like newegg, then buy the extras for it as well.

and for a QPack, the MB is not included, so that's something i would also have to get from newegg, correct?

You can easily do the lighting yourself. Just grab a few cold cathodes, a 120mm LED fan for the back, and a Blue Orb for your CPU. If you want to sleeve the cable, that's a bit tougher to do.

ditto. just replace the original components with lighted ones. its not that big of a deal to do, sleeving psu cables can get tricky, but if you wanted some lighted ide and sata cables they have uv cables as well. oh and when you buy the qpack, you just get the case and all needed screws and stuff, a 120mm fan (but you probably would want to replace that with a lighted one), and a psu (but its a pretty shoddy psu so you might want to replace that as well). other than that, you'll need to get everything else seperately.
 
I've got a spare Qpack I'm looking to get rid of if you want one. I think its silver. Probably $50 includes shipping?
 
the Q-pack with windows comes with an led exhaust fan. remember to get a micro atx motherboard.

as for lighted stuff, yeah, just buy that seperat.

look at newegg of course and also here http://www.svc.com/index.html they have some lighted sata cables as well. look in the cables sections.

keep in mind that a lot of things the use "red" lit el strips are probably actually gonna be more pink than red. my ide cables are sort of a pinky orange, more orange than they appear in the pics that I posted, but I really like it, and it looks good with my blue lights.

another thing to note about el stuff, they come with a little power box thingy attached to them, I dunno if all brands are like this, but mine put out a high pitched dog whistle type sound, I'm one of those people that can hear crazy frequencies like that so, its kind of bothersome, i've been able to position them so its minimized, but it is there.
 
As everyone else said... It is so easy, you should just do it yourself. Buy the XQ-Pack with the window, then go to www.svc.com and get parts (vinyls, cold cathodes, custom IDEs, fan controllers, etc) from them and install them yourself. I will even pick out specific parts for you if you want :p What color do you want? And what color XQ-Pack are you getting?

There are plenty of helpful people here, we can help you do it yourself for MUCH less than a company would.

Like the poster above me said, be sure to get a mATX mobo, and be sure to cross check EVERYTHING for compatibility on the q-pack...
 
I just got a Q-Pack from the egg too. Since the OP mentions about lighting and stuff. I just want to point out that, the Q-Pack comes with a pretty bright 120mm blue led fan, the power box has blue led that shines down onto the mb too... the Biostar tforce mb has 4 bright red light plus a blue light from the onboard power switch. If you buy the zalman 7000 with the led light... then your case is pretty decently lit.

I also saw those LED tubes at the egg too. Was thinking of picking up a pack. (pack comes in 2)
 
Well this is my wish list so far... I have yet to add any customizable things, but I'm going to check out the sites you guys mentioned.

yes it does, but that particular heatsink/fan isn't gonna cool any better than the stock cooler for the A64, you'd be better of just replacing the fan on the stock cooler with a lit one, it'll save you $10-$15 dollars.

you guys are forgeting that zalman also makes some mean hsf with blue led fan.
