Is this not a popular hobby anymore?

There used to be heaps of websites with completely custom scratch builds and competitions. I haven't looked at them in years but now i'm in the mood again but can't find much.

Does anybody know of any active websites with build logs of home made PC's?

But what happened to the case modding scene? There used to be way more websites with build logs than I had spare time to look at.
 
Probably because PC hardware prices are through the roof right now. I also don't have the time or resources to build a PC case from scratch, but will quickly mod an existing case to make things easier (for example, adding a carry handle to a iTX or m-ATX case).

Cases used to be limited and boring. Now, if you have a "need", there's probably already a case that suits.

It's all been done before. There's probably good ideas to be had still, but in a lot of ways, there's nothing really "new" to do.

Kids these days are watching 30s videos. I don't see them doing build logs. Lol
 
Yeah, lots of reasons I guess. Another might be the faster internet speeds become, the more access we have to time wasting entertainment, which becomes the only hobby.

There's a lot of case mods which doesn't interest me that much, since it's all thst it pretty common and a lot of similar or even nicer cases can be bought that way.
