Custom painted Sabertooth

This the kind of mod I envisioned the first time I saw a Sabertooth board with the cover on it. Too bad it is being done away with for the most part due to expense....and ASUS hosing the people that bought it because it would not supply the odd size fan needed.
 
I envisioned someone making a giant waterblock to replace the cover.
 
That is outstanding. I'm not a fan of skulls and stuff like that but I think the quality of the work is superb.

the sabertooth is for this chassis I'm currently working on... I will post the worklog here when I perform next update..

Bill and team at MNPC doing an awesome job as always! That shroud looks cool. I can't remember where (maybe at Case Mod Blog) but I believe I've also seen someone paint the Sabertooth in white which looked very nice.
 
Nice work! You took a completely ugly assed motherboard and made me want one, like the one in the first post of course. ;) And the skulls, top notch Ya'll.
 
Nice but a bit pointless and it's a waste of detail on something that you're never see.

I know, whoever thought of the olive drab color scheme for the sabertooth should be fired. I once considered this motherboard but couldn't get pass the colors.

It is part of Asus' The Ultimate Force (TUF) Series of boards, it has a 'Special Forces' kind of vibe to it.
When the line was designed, olive drab as still 'in' for camo, so...

I think the TUF boards would look nice in a matte-finish case, or ammo-can case, maybe something like a camo-inspired LanBoy Air.

The airbrushing gives the board a kind of 'Army of One/Two' or a 'Mercenaries' feel.
 
how is the board for temps with the cover on it?

sure some company could start selling Decals for it.
 
That's hot... would be awesome to do the lighter bits in UV reflective paint also... have a couple red LEDs in the eye sockets. :)
 
Thanks for the kind words everyone. This project is on hold..again, but for good reason, I'm starting a Serenity theme build, inspired by firefly series for a client. I've been brainstorming all week, I don't want to let the fans down. It was such an awesome series.
