I saw this and the first thing in my mind was "custom made waterblocks". This is not an endorsemant or advert of any kind, I just think it's cool to be able to get custom made machineworked pieces since I have trouble just cutting holes with a dremel. I guess it could also be an assist for casemodders that don't have a full metalshop in their house.

Looks like the prices suck if you only order one.

the price of CNC machining makes baby jesus cry

unless its a production run (and even then sometimes) most people who make custom blocks have actual access (and training) in a CNC machine because places charge by the time it takes to make a block, and a good block takes a while to mill out.

Get a few made (what was it something like how 10 cost twice as much as 1?) and see if others want to get into the action. I've seen a few threads about how someone made a small run of 50 cases because interested members where willing to pre order them.
I'm also try to build a custom HTPC case and I'm looking at this software, depending on the kind of interested feedback I get I might do a small production run too.
Depending on how good it is I might be interested too.

if its any good ill take one, i love custom blocks. i know the guys at procooling have some wonderful designs id love to rip off and make my own (well you know, just made one of their designs and all) but as was said its not cheap

Then there's always the Zero Fan Zone

This guy is just out of control! Does his own machining in rather clever ways. Hell, he even made a water block for his power supply!

I've been playing with their app a little this morning and made some very interesting shapes.

I noticed the laser cutting option and made a few fan covers and 5 1/4" faceplates.

It is strange how making 10 is just a little more costly than making only 1, but I guess the amount of time to set up the laser or milling machine is factored in.

If anyone comes up with a good design and wants to do a small run, I'm all for it. I don't think the block that came with the Aquarius set that I got is that good, but works for me since I don't do any OCing.

most machine shops will charge you anywhere between $45-90 an hour for just setting up the cnc machine.

not to mention cost of material, turning, and labor.

a CNC machine is not cheap. the cnc machines i work with cost over 45,000 a piece, with 10-20k software for each, and there is 4 of them at the shop i work at.

and no one is making a block on a laser cutter, or water jet, they're not for milling
