custom HDD installation help

Hey there folks. I'm almost finished with completeing the interior of my case mod update and I've run into a creative roadblock. I've got 2 HDDs to use and I can't figure out how to mount them. I'm using a Silverstone TJ06 and have removed the upper HDD rack to make room for a side mounted Swiftech tripple-rad and that rad extends into the 5.25 drive bay area. I also took out the 3.5 bay to make rook for the pump. In the front area of the case I removed the DD dual-120 heatercore and plan on mounting the HDDs there.

Here is a pic of the available space (sorry for the blurry huge pic, its off my Samsung Blackjack and I have no editting software at the moment)...

I plan on mounting a painted panel in the front openning to house a pair of medium speed Yate Loon 120mm fans so they blow across the case. I want to mount the 2 HDDs downstream of the fans so they get proper cooling and are the least restrictive to the air flow. As I said, I'm having a creative roadblock and I would greatly appreciate any ideasa you folks might have. THANK YOU!!!
 
All I can say is get creative. Have seen far too many people say how difficult making a HDD rack is. Quite the contrary!

Here is a a simple two drive rack that I fabricated for my case. Been running for three years now - no troubles & very quiet.

 
Does anyone make a rack that fits in a pci slot on the motherboard? Would work pretty good I think.

That is absolutely KICKA$$!!! That would really be perfect for the raptor 150 with the see through casing. And you could mount it perfectly square with a windowed case. I'll be saving these pics and copying you if I ever get off my lazy arse, heh.
 
Very nice idea there Susquehannock. I wish I had a welder, cause then I would be making all sorts of funky stuff. :) I ended out just using 4 PCI slot covers as HDD legs. Here is a pic of the setup...

To be honest, it is something I threw together quickly from scrap laying around the garage. I had just finished
fabricating some suspension parts for my friend's Mustang, so I already had the welder & tools set up.

Had a couple HDD rack ideas floating around my empty head for a while. Once I realized all drives have the underside
mounting holes the design you see above just fell into place. So far it seems to be working very well.

Good idea on the transparent Raptor baleedit. Would look good in that application.

In conclusion - - as someone with metalworking experience covering many fields (see sig), I would encourage everyone
to attempt more custom fabrication work.

In my eyes this is true modding. The likes of which we see less & less of in recent years.
Unfortunately, it seems that the proliferation of pre-modded parts has sent things in the wrong direction.
