On paper, I have put together my dream computer from my dream components, and i would like to see the cost of how mich it would be for parts and labor vs. just parts, to see if it is worth learning to build myself. Online stuff is woefully inadequate though and no site ive seen covers the high-end recent widely diverse components that I seek.
Does anyone know a site that specializes in truly custom PC building? thanx

Computers are a peice of cake to put together. The annoying part is learning all the ram/processor/videocard timings especially with amd. So for a newbie to building computers, i'd go with an intel. As for paying for someone to do it, i'd lean away from that unless it's a trusted friend. And screw professionals, because they're going to charge you an arm and a leg. But if you're willing to put in some time, and patience you could really utilize the forums to help you learn step by step. Just get a digital camera if you're really uncertain. If you're in the dfw area, I for one would step forward to help you out.

im in DC area. What i think ill do is first post my list of components to get feedback on just the components first. Because for the price of a congiured Dell or something, i could have my ultimate computer...downside......no warranty.
