I know about caselabs, but the main cases there are a bit big. Anywhere you can pick all parts you want with a little more choice?
 
The problem with SFF is that it iss as customized as it gets to achieve efficiency, so building one from some universal parts seems impossible. The only real DIY SFF case I've seen is one made out of extruded aluminium beams.
 
mountain mods offers many types of pick and build type thing but, they are $$. If you really are looking for custom cases, you can buy the parts to do so, but its usually just to buy the complete cases, coolermaster, phanteks and so forth all have SFF offerings now they are generally small and tight but it goes with what generally is going in them so they don't need a ton of space otherwise just go for a small tower and use a small mobo etc.
