Does anyone know the best way to go about this? I am trying to get some characters on the side of my case, preferably high-quality.

try a sign shop?!

my best guess, may be worthwhile to check out. Some of the best pc products don't come from pc stores. ie water cooling pumps :) Just check out your local fish store and save some money :)
 
I found out there's such a thing as decal paper you can put in a printer. Anyone ever used this and can speak to it's quality? Also, anyone know a non-online store or store type that may carry it?

ShatteredWeb.com, they do awesome work. I have gotted several appliques through them.

Google search: Decal Paper. Lots of sites sell it.

Their stuff looks nice, and affordable, but it's all monotone. Do they do multi-color ones if you order custom?

Not sure if they do multicolor, they mostly do appliques for windows.

You want to post upclose shots of those graphics darth? I fail to see if they're airbrushed. Looks like decals with a clear over them.
