does anyone know what may be causing this? I have had it now for almost a year but in the last couple days the curser has been dying on the screen with no movements at all. I either have to restart or unplug it for a few seconds. I have cleaned it well, changed ports, re-enstalled the drivers and still. Anyone?

Are you using PS/2 or USB?
I noticed that when I use PS/2, it sometimes gets loose and I need to do a restart. This only happens like once every 6 months. Not even, but on occasion it does happen. I guess that the reason is because you need to use the adapter for PS/2. So it is extended pretty long which can easily become unsecured.
