I can envision a really amazing modern version of Blood. Hopefully we'll get more strong modern horror/fps's in the future. I feel between worlds at times because I like and dislike some stuff from both the retro style games and the really modern games. I've just learned to appreciate both at this point. I think they both have their merits.I always liked Blood, but I can't do the retro thing. Especially that era. I'd love to see more modern takes on the horror/fps genre, though.
I can understand that. These retro shooters aren't for everyone. It took me some time to learn to love them. I think I own basically all of them on steam at this point now lol. I purchased Prodeus alongside CULTIC, and it's one of the next ones on my list to try. One great thing about them is they take less than 5 mins to download. It's cathartic honestly in a world of so many 50GB+ sized mediocre modern games.Played the Demo too pixelated for my taste I mean it's more Pixelated than the original Doom.
Dusk looks better but it's getting good reviews plus the game hurts my eyes.
There was no preorder for this game. I realize this may just be a joke directed at Comix, but...ya there was no preorder for this onedo not preorder...

I finally got a chance to play through a good portion of it (6.5/10 levels) and have really enjoyed it. It adopts all the best elements of Quake, Blood, and Dusk and is very well polished. The 99% positive reviews speaks for itself. The gameplay feels really good and the atmosphere is pretty amazing too.

Amid Evil looks the best of them all imo, and it could still actually use a bit more GPU power power than my RTX 4090 has to offer. I have to enable DLSS on quality mode for a smooth, high-framerate experience at 4K with RTX enabled; otherwise, it dips below 60 FPS at times. That's kind of impressive for a 4.7GB oldschool Hexen-like shooter -- which is quite fun I might add!
