So. Im on the fence about a new video card for my sons comp. Im thinking that a 7900GT would nicely replace his 6800GT. He has started to complain about some video lag in his favorite games.

Well I just got a 7300GS for a small comp for my Dad. I thought the HDTV capabilities would be a neat deal, and hes 80 and doesnt game. Well the eVGA 7300 arrived with a broken DVI port. The card was otherwise just fine.

Went on line, filled out a form, faxed a form, cards cross-shipped and the new one arrived in two days. No questions asked. Perfectly painless. New card works perfectly.

Looks like my new 7900 series card is gonna be from eVGA. Service was exceptional.

spelled "Kudos" btw...

eVGA has turned out to be probably the best nVidia cards you can buy right now. I remember at one point everyone was wary of them since they were new to the market, and XFX was horrible at that point too. BFG was all everyone talked about in terms of warranty and support, but now it looks like eVGA and XFX are even better...

yea the warrentees on eVGA and XFX have really improved lately. This card is an XFX, but I'd get eVGA if I could.

I just RMAed a messed up 7900GT sometime a few days ago. Did the cross shipping process, and I'm sitting here waiting for the UPS guy to come. So far so good, as long as they don't send me another broken one!

Kudo,cudo,tomato,tomatoe.......anyway......update.
Got the RMA by cross-ship Friday!
New one worked without a hitch.
Package came with a paid UPS sticker for return of the old card.
I actually got a brand new Retail box with all the goodies, I was just expecting a card only.
These eVGA guys are a pleasure to work with.

From what I've read about eVGA on this forum as well as their own forums, they have the RMA thing down pat because they do a lot of it. But, if your experience is a good one that's all that counts.

Are those new favorite games or old favorite games? If his old favorites started lagging there might be other issues.
OR (as I hope to be the case)

he has issued a report of a lagging computer and has managed to secure a 7900GT.

If that is the case I salute your son and his 7900GT.

HA.HA.HA. are you suggesting my son is conning me????? Well you could be correct. The games are current and he just realized there are higher resolutions than 1024x768.
I think he's probably correct and he's a good kid.......so I'm thinking that I'm gonna pull the trigger. But the little birdie on my shoulder says maybe wait another month in case the 8000 series comes out in less than 3 months. (can you say step up??)

hey magoo u wanna adopt me?
My parents would sooner give me their 6 year old dell and buy a new crappy dell before they bought me a $300 graphics card! wait a minute im on the 6 year old dell right now :(

I like what I am reading here. I am looking to upgrade from an FX 5500 to an eVGA 6800GS. I have heard all good things about the 6800GS but haven't hear much of anything about eVGA...until now. Looks like I found a great card, now I really can't wait to order it.

I think you'll be happy. I have several eVGA products at the present and Ive not been unhappy. Their CS answers the phone promptly, I had excellemt service on this last deal with the 7300 and I expect the same good result from my 7900 purchase. :D
I'm also a big fan of BFG.....but eVGA is quickly becoming my favorite.

Yea I got a faulty card in my duo of 7800GT's and within the week my replacement card was shipped, i just got it yesterday and im semi-satisfied, because now it seems the other card isn't running perfect either (have to underclock to get stable), but that might just be a messup with EVGA, their 7800GT's don't seem to work well at a 470mhz clock speed.

I have to underclock my 7900GT's as well. The core is okay, I just have to lower the memory to around 700MHz.

=O, complaining? My parents told me to shut it until i fought them to get my comp. They said a Pentium 4 1.8ghz Willamette + 512MB DDR1 + MX400 was perfect and that I didn't need a new computer. lol. Your kid is one lucky kid. I managed to squeeze in an X800 into the setup.

evga is the best right now for sure, no other video card company selling NV or ATI parts can match their warranty or customer service

I give eVGA a big thumbs up. I have a 6800GT from them that has served me well over the last year. Not only is their support good, but their prices are also excellent. When I purchased my 6800GT, they were $20 cheaper than anyone else. I have a feeling that my next card will also be an eVGA.

Their rma service is easy. And they sent me a replacement that is a super overclocker. Games at 524/1250. Coolbits often clocks it at 516/1190
