Well this is my first worklog so im gonna try to keep it as thurough as possible
so any questions and critisms or ideas are welcome.

So on to the case. most of you prolly have seen those 12u server cubes on ebay.
i had been contemplating getting on for a while. and 3-4 weeks ago they ran a 6day sale
$75 + 60 shipping. compared to the normal $150 + 60shipping.
i just missed the sale by a day waitin for bills to clear. so i emailed them to see if they would continue it for my sake. and i managed to get this one for $125 shipped.

anyhow my plans are to water cool my main rig and to custom mount a mATX board on the backside to run my file/media server.

well its late i will update with more pics tomorrow

email them i really dont think they sell alot of them often, just do it like a week and a half before you want it lol its a 70lbs box

Did this case come with any kinda mounts or rails?

yes comes with rails and also cames with wide feet installed. 2sec to unscrew them and screw on supplied locking casters

more pics here
hugecube004-1.jpg

stripped YY cube. gonna move my secondary/girls pc into that possibly take a shot at water cooling it

parts gettin ready to be installed... prolly the last pic of my x1950 pro before it goes to its new home and my 8800gts takes its place
*tear* i made the switch to Nvidia from being a long long time ATi guy

hugecube025.jpg

hugecube024.jpg

ewwww nasty caked dust took me like 25min and a tooth brush to get that remotly clean. im gonna soak it in vinegar once the WC system is installed
hugecube026.jpg

hugecube010.jpg

hugecube010.jpg

HD's mounted. and board installed. i might have to look into a PSU with longer cables tho, my tagan 1.1kw just barely makes it
note: i mounted that 120mm fan like that to get extra cooling to gpu and cpu turns out it might be no good. so dont worry bout wires gettin caught up in it

teaser 1am finally up and running night shot

That case is nice, but if i were the manufacturer of the case I would have put more 120mmm fans in the back.

What are you going to do with the old case?

Haha yea it does dont it. its bout to finnaly go watercooled.. but thats after that behemoth of a case gets its dues

That case is nice, but if i were the manufacturer of the case I would have put more 120mmm fans in the back.

it can fit 6 in stock locations. its a 3day weekend and my angle grinder and dremel are gonna have some fun hehehe.

if i wanted a hover craft id build it to lift 300lbs+ so my fat ass can float around in it.
but right now id like to keep it at a silent and cool dual pc/fileserver

An MM U2-UFO has 18 fan mount locations if I recall correctly

a MM ufo cant be had for 125 shipped to your door. so that extra 250 i can spend on better things like the 8800gts thats enroute to me. (blast ups and thier holidays lol)

ok gettin my WC gear ready for the install
and just finished rebuilding my fileserver
hugecube047.jpg

the rad will be mounted internally just as its shown ontop of the case. im prolly gonna cut it up in next day or so. just need to wire up the fans.

and now the server .
all i really need is 3 or 4, 3in4 hd racks and i can put all my drives together.
server has 2x200 IDE and 2x160 sata.
hugecube036.jpg

hugecube039.jpg

hugecube037.jpg

to keep the drives at a nominal temp
hugecube040.jpg

hugecube041.jpg

installing my streamlined unatended win xp pro

i got the mobo from work. has a wierd bug in it, as in if u shut down the pc
it will automatically reboot. no matter what u try. owell works for me

well her is an update i got the watercooling in, had to install the radiatior differently. but all works cause the rad fans move fresh air thru the cash.

hugecube053.jpg

the top of the case ie removable, so i made a large rectangle in the main chassis, then a hole just large enough for the fans in the top.
hugecube052.jpg

hugecube060.jpg

hugecube055.jpg

mounted my EK 250 multioption. pissed cause one of the clamp arms broke off. n wasnt even full of water yet
hugecube059.jpg

hugecube057.jpg

hugecube058.jpg

leaktesting, i lapped both the storm WB and my e6600 for best possible contact.
like a dummy i disassembled the storm to clean and lap it. and forgot to reinstall the
lower O-ring. put the whole mess together and couldnt figure out why it was just barely leaking thru bottom of WB. till i drained it n figured it out. all is weel now.

my rheostats seem to get reeeeally hot. so i thought id prolong them a lil and use some ram sinks that were layin around.
im going to switch to quieter fans soon

Good idea on the rheostats. They DO get warm since they are a source of resistance in a circuit.

thanks everyone for the comments, currently thuis week the board is going for RMA,
somethin happend to pci-e based lan port and now im down to 1 lan port.
im also planning to redo the watercooling. will reverse the radiator and add a 3rd pot to the bunch. possibly make a fan control panal with the pots.
