Haha I know im a little slow... but I have been in Iraq a while and with a crappy computer. Now I have my ultimate Rig and Playing CS source / HL2 for the first time lol.

w00t! It totally rocks. I think it looks alot better than BF2...

I love CS. I wouldn't go as far as saying that it's better than the BF series, but it is pretty good.
 
I positive CS:S post? No way man! I love you! Seriously, so many bitch about this game, but I think it's fucking awsome. It took me sometime to realize this, but just about every gun in 1.6 is useless. CS:S is wayyy more balanced and just fun. And even though I know you've been back for a little, welcome back! :)

well my favorite CS was beta 7.1 as for game play. But I mean seriously. This game looks beautiful. And since I can play it at Native 1680x1050 w/ 4x AA and 8x AF.. it really loooks good. I always loved CS save for the damn hax0rs. But what can you do. No other game "feels" like CS... and it will always be my favorite FPS.
 
I like the "less real" shooters.
I can still kill people pretty well in CS Source but I have no idea what is going on.
Is there a bomb or something around here? Where is it?
What button do I press to deactivate it?


I am so good at Half Life 2 Deathmatch that I have been accused of "hacking" the game.

Haha to me hl2:dm sucks too. Too dependant on the gravity gun. I've never been big on the grav gun, even in single player... Usually had to end up using it for lack of ammo though... grrr...

The gravity gun can suck
I rarely use it, mostly to clear barracades people make
I use nothing but guns (I never use grenades or mines) to rack up my high scores
I have perfected the "smother technique" for when someone is attempting to throw something
with the gravity gun at me.
I get as close as I can to them (hopefully between them and the object they have "grabbed")
and I shoot them in the face until they die
 
I had a riot with the gravity gun + shotgun + raging bull in HL2DM until about 18 hours after it came out...at which point it got old.

I still play CS:S when I haven't been playing games for awhile and feel like randomly picking up a game that I can do sort of well at. The hitbox / headshot problems are what keeps me from really enjoying the game; it's fun, just as long as you don't think about why the guy named 1nuy4sh4 killed you with an xm104 headshot from 50 yards away.

CS:S owns.

The only people who cry about it are the people who suck at the game.

I'm 24 and I prefer CS:S to BF2. I played out BF 1942 and the DC mod a long time ago but I would choose those over every game mentioned on this thread.


I never really got into the first CS, so that maybe why.
 
17... yeah this guy's theory is pretty wrong. Still the best mp shooter imo... is call of duty

21, been playing CS since the begining, Source was a much welcomed improvement over them. I will miss the days of the canisters where you didn't know what you were gonna pick up. Many a fighit you'd see a canister, and for example, I'd have my deagle, I'd see the canister hoping it was somthing better, pick it up to find it was like a USP or maybe an MP5. It was worse than having autoswitch and picking up an empty gun.....

First off, let me welome you home and thank you for your service (assuming that you are in the military and weren't over in Iraq on vacation).

Secondly, I have to agree. CS:S does look really fantastic, and I think it looks better than BF2. That said, I think BF2 is a deeper game and I tend to have more fun playing it. CS:S, for me, is generally for when I want to play a quick round and call it quits, though that may be because I played the hell out of it when it was first released.
 
CS: Source does kick ass, it's one of my favorite online games. I can't get into BF2, and I've tried :|
 
19 here.. And I've been playing CS since like, beta 4 or 5 or something... Its been awhile heh, CS sucked after 1.1... I like Source though, probably just because Im good at it, and people call me a hacker heh, compliments are awesome.

I find CS very dull.. I gave it a good shot, but round after round of sneaking around getting mowed down 10 seconds into it, I'm a newb to CS, I admit that, but whats the fun in getting sniped by some guy peeking out of a window a mile away.. I guess that's why I've liked Q3/UT games better, you can actually see your enemy.. most of the time anyway :p

Bah, once you practice and get good at CS, you'll own at UT or Q3 iwthout even trying. All I ever used to play was Q3, then I went to CS, found it to be more of a challange, now I can't play Q3 cause it's too easy.
 
CS is a good game. CS just takes patience. Alot of people get bad impressions about it because they play a couple rounds when they first get it, they get owned and complain about how it isnt balanced or crap like that. It took me about a month to get a hang of CS:S and been doing pretty good in it since then. Patience is the key, something alot of people dont have.
 
cs_militia is the first level i played a lot of when i first starting playing CS in beta 5(or 6 cant remember). its what defined CS for me pretty much. it was so fun. i hope they bring it to CS:Source.
 
thank you for serving our country. i still haven't played the game, but it looks fun. looking for an alternative to bf2 as im bored with that game.
 
CS is usually a fun LAN game :)

I miss the days of p90 ownage, lpbs, hpbs, 1-2 supa speed knifing, and that god awful escape map scenerio. Heck, I wouldn't mind playing an escape map just for nostalgic kicks.
 
Yeah im 21 now. I have been playing since I was like 15 or 16 (I Think) I started in Beta 6.4 and got dubbed the name "Pink Bunny" Because my Fav color is pink and i always bunny hopped :) I loved it. I just played and played and got real real good. CS startred to such when 1.0 Came out, but I still played. When 1.4 Came out I stopped for a while and didnt play until just now with source. And I am still just as good, its like riding a bike I guess, you always know how to do it one you have done it once. I love this game. The "feel" and gameplay of it just is unique.

Dont get me wrong, I like BF2 too. It an awesome alternative but as for just graphics go, I say Source wins this... I think its the best looking game I have played to date. (Never played doom 3) yuck.... But I am anxiously awaiting Quake 4 :)!
