I have a 7800 GTX and im wondering what drivers i need to play source on, cuz when i play, every now and then it lags, then recently ill play for 10 mins and my comp will shut off, nvidia does such a "wonderful" job of telling you what drivers you need, i just wanna shoot somone
 
um i dont think your pc shutting off after 10 mins has anything to do with your video card drivers
 
yea i did it before, i have a thread on it, we thought it was a power issue, but its now happening too many times, but as for the lag issues, i need help
 
i'd say its one of two things: heat, or power. possibly an rma if neither of these is the issue. use rivatuner to check your temps.

to be honest, it isn't a driver issue. drivers don't cause the computer to randomly restart, unless something is truly f'd up. just drop by www.nvidia.com and install the newest drivers using drivercleaner.
 
Im telling you right now, its not your video card thats shutting your compuer down. As quadnad said, its either heat, or power. Your current nVidia driver should let you know where to get the newest driver, and thats all you will need. Have you checked your ram? I had a problem that looked like a huge driver problem, in fact, windows problem center labeled it as one.

Trust us, your video drivers are not your highest concern right now.
