CS Source artifacts with x850xt or is this normal?

So I recently upgraded from crt + 9600 pro to sapphire x850xt and a 19" WS LCD. So now am able to turn on AA and AF and stuff.

Only thing is that I notice that sometimes the edges and sights of the weapons in CSS turn greenish when I am standing in a dark area. Also in dark areas the character skins (especially the fingernails) have this shiny reflective sort of appearance.

Are these artifacts or just normal?

Why not take some screenshots to show us what you're talking about?

yea... i think i know what your talking about.. however.. a screenshot is really needed

Do you have the latest drivers? if you dont i suggest to download them. I used to have the same thing back when i upgraded from 6800NU-X800XL and had old drivers for the X800.

I have win2k so using cat 6.2 and also ati tool (to set fan speeds).

I can upload better ones later of this but for now these are the screenies

Screenshots:
Shiny #1
Shiny #2
Green #1 Green #2

In shiny #2 notice the fingernail and the silver part of the glock.

In the green screenshots its most obvious on top of the iron sight closest to the barrel (especially in green #2). in #1 you can also see it on the sides of the shoulder support and and the carrying handle.

If it does bother you that much, see if clearing out the drivers with Driver Cleaner and re-installing them as well as the game will fix the issues. I believe that has nothing to do with the videocard and all to do with the textures. I have a X800XL from the same generation of cards and have no issues such as those.

All of these pictures were taken while on the same server. Try a different one they probably have some kind of mod running.

the blue shiny is caused by poorly made custom maps. the green is just a source engine bug.

Thats normal. Everyone gets that. Source engine needs a little tune up.
