Crystalfontz Help Needed (Wiring + Linux Support)

I was just going through my box of misc electronic stuff and found my crystalfontz lcd that I never had time to install. It is a CFAH2004A-TMI-JP and I don't remember at all anything about how to get it hooked up. To make things more interesting, I would like to use it on my linux desktop. Right now it is soldered to a parallel cable and two pretty beefy looking dials (voltage regulators? ... that doesn't sound right but not sure what they are called)

I tried searching the forums for directions on the wiring and any information about using lcds in linux without luck. Anyone have links to wireing diagrams and/or software I'll need to put it to use? I mostly just want to display customized messages and system information like uptime, IP address etc.

I've only soldered a few times and a newbe as far as diy electronics go -- any detailed help would go a long way.
