Crysis....worth it?

Um, ok?

E8500 Wolfsdale OCed
Asus Rampage MOBO
Corsair 1KW PSU
4 Gigs Reaper OCZ 1066
ATI 4870x2 2GB
Thermalright IFX-14 w/2 120mm Scynth Fans
Lian LI Armor Case
Windows Vista 64

Yeah it runs pretty damn well if I say so myself. Only about 3 hours into the game and I hear the end is more intensive, so I may have to throttle down at some point.

For now though, it's buttery goodness.

If I show my E-peen off in my sig do you think I'd get some more E-respect?

/sigh

yes it helps if youre going to run your mouth about how good your pc is. after all that is the main point of a sig.

EDIT: actually after looking at this your claim of all very high and 4x AA at 1920 seems a little exaggerated. I mean they didnt even get 25fps at very high settings, 1920 and NO AA. http://www.techreport.com/articles.x/15293/8

Sigh...whatever man, be an internet prick if you want.

I'll just enjoy my Crysis, with my real world performance, here and now. If you dont wanna spend the money to see for yourself, then point to some review to "prove" me wrong, that's fine. Have fun with your POS and enjoy the waiting game.

I'm done arguing, time to play.

Well you come into a thread with no sig talking about how well YOU can run Crysis maxed at 1920 with 4x AA. I asked you what rig are you running and you had to act like a jerk when you answered that. I then point you to a benchmark that shows what you are saying might be an exaggeration and you call me a prick? You sound like a real nice guy.

I think Crysis is worth picking up. I have it and COD4. Different games and love em both.

Great game. The ending was too easy and you will have to play it on the hardest setting to get a challenge but definitely worth the $36 it costs now.

It is a great game....so what it struggles a bit at higher settings.

Nothing more entertaining than grabbing a guy by the throat and using him as a human shield!

I just finished it a week ago, and loved it the whole way through.

Finished the demo a little over a week ago,and it was'nt too bad. decided to check out the full game. found a copy of the special edition on ebay for $16, was'nt going to pay $40. did'nt like the demo that much. should be here thu or fri. the demo ran fine on med with a x2 4800 & 2x9600gt's+ vista.

I am glad that you can get a copy from Mac, saves you a bunch of money.

IMHO Crysis is a fantastic game. It provides a more open ended form of gameplay for a large portion of the game, while pushing the graphical envelope. I felt enthralled from beginning to end.

don't get it crysis it was a epic pile of crap, it doesn't run well, game play is so repetitive and predictable you can play it with your eyes closed, yes it looked great if you set everything to max and just sat there looking at the screen but don't try and play it at those settings. plus they even said there is no more support for the game, and they are releasing warhead here soon which is the same game only running parallel to the original story, its not even different in anyway.

I would like to see you play it with your eyes closed, really.

sorry but crysis was far cry with different characters. i really hope warhead fails in the most epic way so that maybe these dev's will learn that pretty looking game doesn't equal a A+ title. i say buy far cry for 10 bux if you haven't already and play that its a better game.

lol troll u funny

please tell me how crysis was a breath of fresh air? because you had a super suit?

COD4 may have been very linear but its story and how that story was told is what made that game, they should have spent more on the script and story for crysis then they did on the graphics.

playing as different character in the same story doesn't make it new. two characters with same goal the same island, the same enemy, is not new.

they could have put warhead in with crysis and had you jump from one character to another during the game ie COD4 instead of selling you a whole new game.

And to you Guitarrasdeamor if you pay for all the shipping i will give you my copy of crysis and you can decide for yourself.

I don't see how the similarities to Far Cry diminish Crysis. Far Cry was great. I don't mean to jump on the CoD4 bus, but if we want to use your logic, CoD4 is just a reskin of CoD 1 through 3.

Secondly, it makes me sad that you would wish failure on a company that had vaunted PC gaming. But it is nice to give away your copy.

Other than the poor performance, incredibly stupid AI (Read: they walk into walls), limited objectives (countless jammers etc.), lack of future support via patches, and terrible alien enemies, the game isn't terrible. If you can get it used for $10 or so, it might be worth it.

lol...I chuckled

I dunno, I've talked with several people that have similar rigs as the one in my sig, and each one runs fairly differently.

Maybe this guy has a good setup.
