Can someone tell me how to blow up the enemy HQ in power struggle? I am having a hard time figuring out this mode.

gotta nuke it with the nuke tank. you can get the nuke tank from the 'weapons depot' or whatever the hell it's called. happy fragging.

so you don't necessarily need the prototype factory to get the alien weapons to kill hq? Will the prototype guns kill the HQ? If so which ones?

You can buy Nuke tank (2 hits will destroy HQ) and Nuke launcher(3 hits will destroy HQ) only in Prototype lab.

I haven't done the tutorial in game so i dunno if it explains this and people just aren't going through it, or if they need to add it in to the game, but i've explained this to a bunch of people since it came out, so here goes:

You have to have the prototype factory (it has 3 circles or something for icon) in order to gather energy.

While you have the prototype factory the more energy bases (lightning bolts) you have the faster your energy goes up.

Once your team gets to 50% energy (blue bar at top of your screen) you can buy alien weapons at the prototype factory.

The top left alien gun with the moar attachment (which you attach using C, like a weapon scope or something) is the freeze ray which is bad ass.

Once you get to 100% you can purchase a tac launcher (hand held nuke with 3 shots doing 40% dmg each to enemy HQ), tac tank (2 shots doing 60% dmg to enemy base) or singularity tank (infinite ammo, shoots a lazer ball or something at the enemy base doing 60% dmg).

the handheld tac launcer costs 500pp, the tac tank costs 750, and the singularity tank costs 800

When you are in possession of a nuke an icon will show up on your hud leading to the enemy base, you have to hit the base dead on in the correct spot to do damage, it can be hard on some levels where there's multiple buildings around the HQ, you basically just have to try different ones till you figure out which one is the actual HQ.

After the enemy hq gets down to zero you win.

Strats: i think it's almost always worth it to save up for a tank of some kind, it's too easy to get killed with the handheld launcher. If you are new to the map it's worth it to get teh singularity tank, since it has infinite ammo you can try out different buildings and you won't have to return to your base to buy more ammo if you miss the HQ.

The Tac Tank has by far the coolest explosion, it makes a mushroom cloud and sends out a huge shockwave and stuff. If you haven't seen it yet, i would recommend buying of of these and firing it off just to see the explosion.

If your team has the war factory (tank logo i think) you can buy normal kinds of tanks, apc's, anti infantry tanks, etc. There is also the gauss tank, it's the most expensive one at the war factory. That thing is made just for taking out other vehicles, i'm pretty sure it will 1 shot a nuclear tank. So if you see the enemy has captured the prototype factory, and you think they are smart enough to start building a nuke tank right away (you can tell it's under construction because the garage door on the prototype factory is close) then you can whip out a gauss tank and blast the tank right when the garage door opens and give your team more time to re-take the prototype factory.

If you get too close to the enemy base you will get shot and owned hardcore by their turrets, so you have to find a viewpoint far enough away to be out of their range, but still able to hit the base. If you want you can use rocket launchers, normal kinds of tanks, or nukes, or the singularity tank, to blow up these turrets and give yourself free passage to their base.

Damn i love this game

I'm pretty sure you gain energy as long as you have energy sites, regardless of who has the prototype factory. Everything else is correct though.

You are wrong, all my posts are accurate. It's a fact you don't gain energy without the prototype factory. Under standard rules anyway, possible to change the server's rules i'm sure.

Strange, I never noticed that during the beta. I can see how that makes sense, its pointless to capture the prototype factory early otherwise.
