CRYSiS Min SPECS !!???

Yea, I will belive the minimum req's when i see the box at the store and look at the bottom.

 
Min specs are a shader 4.0 card, quad core, 4gb of ram, and your soul :p

Seriously though, they're pretty reasonable, the 6xxx Nvidia range is 2 generations old, soon to be 3 with the newer cards here in a few months, at over a year per generation that seems to be in line with their 3 year old hardware statement.

16Gb is pretty epic though, I've only got 70Gb total on my C: :(
 
Nah all my porn is safely on my 2nd 200Gb hard drive ;)

I may have to get 2 more 36gb Raptors and increase the RAID0 array to 4 drives, that seems like a perfectly sensible and not at all over the top solution :D
 
Wow 16gb, I wonder if it will come out with 2 or 3 dvds? Anyone who doesn't have a dvd drive needs to get one soon! :D

Well it will probably come compressed on a dual layer DVD (7-8gb maybe). So you need to unpack it, and then also install it. So you need extra room for temp files as well as the final place to store the installed game.

Once the installer is finished it will delete the temp files, so I doubt the game itself will take 16gb, but the install process sure could.
 
16GB, yet u would still need to insert the DVD in order to play the game :mad:

See how this works, dosen't need all 16gb for the game, 10 gigs is to store the soul it steals from you to run it lol.
 
Peering around that site, EA's digital download service is a poor cousin to Steam. You have to pay to download after the first six months. Lame.

Seeing that install size, I'm glad I'm up to 2 TB of internal storage.

Does that mean you will be able to play the Crysis demo 24hrs before it actually comes out on the 25th? Or, does that mean you can download it now and play for 24 hours?
 
I read these specs today and I find them pretty amazing actually. Crytek and scaling FTW!
 
Ive been playing the MP beta at 1650x1080 medium settings and im getting 30-35 FPS (specs in my signature).
 
For crysis I pulled a small 40 GB EIDE HD from an old computer. I'll have Vista on it so I can use DX10.
 
The beta runs like crap on my rig. I was hoping it would last at least through this season, heh.
 
How crappy is crappy lol, and if you don't mind at what settings. I know its the beta but i have heard that 7800gtx should run the game smoothly.

or knowing EA, the people that pre-order get it on the 25th, and the rest of us get screwed for another 24 hours :rolleyes:

seriously though, who would bother with this? ive been waiting for the game for ages, i think i can hold out another 24 hours for the demo

EDIT: as for the min spec, a 9800pro is about half the power of a 6800GT right? im guessing the game really needs 256 mb minimum then... my old 6800 256mb should run fine, but i lament the fact that the 6600GT is left out :( i still have two of those lying around (one of which in the linux experimental box), damned shame to see them drop below the minimum spec for newer games

Demos dont make themselves, if they put X of their programmers/people on the demo, it means those same people cant work on the actual game, thus delaying the game itself

yes i realize a demo is based heavily on the game, but it still requires a good amount of work
