Crysis - long save times

I installed crysis and played maybe halfway through the game over a period of a few days and everything was fine. Now that I'm playing it some more, I have a big problem. Whenever I do a quicksave, or the game saves at a checkpoint it takes 2-2 1/2 minutes to save. This is making it pretty much unplayable, checkpoints are often so I'm spending a lot of time just waiting for saves to complete.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I'm running the 1.1 patch on vista x64, dx9, 4gb ram, 8800gts 512.

What kind of Hard drive do you have? IDE?
How much space is remaining?

I dont believe this is a hard drive issue, because A) this has been talked about before on other crysis forums by lots of forums, and B) I had this issue after I installed the patch. I reinstalled and the issue went away. It might have occurred because I was messing with the config files...I'm not sure though.

My point is that I'm pretty sure its not your hard drive.

I have just had the same thing occur on XP pro 32bit, load and save times are prohibitive, except for the very first load.
Sometimes they dont even complete and a reboot is required to get the PC back to operation.
This is my fourth new game, odd it should manifest now.
Declocking had no effect and temps are good.

I'll try re-installing too.

Delete some of your SP saves. It's almost as if every time Crysis does a load or a save it queries the Save folder. The more in there, the longer the action seems to take. Worked for me anyway.

I havent read any other reply yet (I will now), soz but did manage to fix it by going back 3 saves to a non corrupt one.
It has been played a lot since and the problem hasnt appeared again... so far.
Thanks anyway :)
