Crysis 2...

oh great.. another game of useless eye candy and no game play.. yippy...

rofl.. and a year ago he said himself that consoles are way too crappy.. not much memory was the biggest problem, and now suddenly this. High end pcgames shouldnt mix with consoles it just aint gonna look as good.

Hopefully the pc version will have extra eye candy the consoles wont have available.

Hmm, so this will just be a re-branding of the cryengine2 with them gambling that by 2012 the consoles will have the power to run it.

I am only slightly joking with that comment btw.

It's probably being done with their fantasically awesome 'CryENGINE 3', which is effectively CryENGINE 1.5.

to bad COD4 looks 100 times better on the 360 then it did on most computers..

sure some games look horrible on a console then they do on pc.. but there are are some games on console that just blow the pc versions out of the water due to companies being lazy asses when it comes to porting a game to PC.. ahem.. gta4 ahem...

no matter what they do crysis 2 will probably suck just as much as the first one.. along with being even more unplayable then the first..

why so much crysis hate ? granted i had to get an GTX260 clock it up and use some tweaks http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1265845 but the demo was pretty much playable on my 8800gt with mid/high settings, i mainly game on 1280*960 tho not 1600/1920

Gameplay was certainly not lacking, ok maybe on delta difficulty the game isn't that much of a challenge for a seasoned fps gamer but still it's not that crappy as you guys make it look like, it was all about switching suit powers on the fly and moaning down koreans, what else did you really expect ?

Any decent-gaming computer (i.e. one that can run games at max settings at resolutions higher than 1280x1024) will mop the floor with the console CoD4s. My computer can't but that doesn't mean the console version is automatically superior.

And Crysis is hardly unplayable. It's open-ended gameplay possibilites are much more fun and replayable than CoD's glorified on-rails approach.

Sounds like it'll be like Bioshock 2, basically more game on what amounts to the same engine. Or like Warhead, but back to the main storyline presumably.
I wonder what Yerli will moan about if this one doesn't do as well as he hopes.

Its Crysis 2. They will have it still able to max out on the PC and be beautiful. I dont really care that its multiplatform b/c ITS CRYSIS 2.

Hi, my name is Mark...

...and I liked Crysis. I also liked Crysis: Warhead. I am also looking forward to Crysis 2.

I liked crysis also, until the aliens showed up, just like far cry, crytek never learned.

The thing i feel is is that designing with consoles in mind is always a bad thing, what is wrong with designing for pc, then toning things down for the console, no one will know the difference anyway.

I hear ya buddy. Now that they have there name established and people that like there product they can come out with a pile of shit and make millions now. This is a growing trend I am noticing these days.

I just hope that they don't cripple Crysis just to make it multi-platform...

They probably will to a point.

Oh well, I guess we don't have to worry about the game exceeding anyone's rigs this time around.

You may say a lot of things against Crysis...but no gameplay ? It seems to me that anyone saying that never really played the game...Or maybe this is all about understanding what gameplay really is. Care to explain what's the meaning of "gameplay" to you ?

I'd like to see something a bit different this time around. It seems as if CryTek really should take the series in something of a new direction at this point, but odds are the fanbase wouldn't appreciate that too much. The suit added a good deal of dimension to the gameplay in Crysis, but I'm hoping for something a little fresher this time around. The jungle combat stuff is fun, but it's not three games fun.

I'm actually not too worried about the console aspect fucking this up. Crysis 2 might not be as visually splendorous as we'd like it to be, but there's still a lot of potential for a solid PC game there, and I won't deny it the chance just because it's multiplatform.

as long as it includes a kick ass sandbox editor, amazing AI, and gameplay that isn't dumbed down, I'll be really looking forward to Crysis 2....

the first one was great, and since Cryengine 3 is just Cryengine 2 slightly more optimized, i'm fairly confident that my HD 4850 will still be able to run it when it's released... which makes me very, very happy :)

Dude, the enemies can't even swim, nor do they find cover. I once shot a person 6 times in the head before he went down SIX TIMES! the AI is horrendous. But you are set in your ways and nobody is going to change them. So its pretty much irrelevant in your eyes how much we dislike the game.

The game is going to be just like the first , with good graphics and a shitty cookie cutter sci-fi storyline, nothing that we haven't experienced before. Everyone will buy it they will make millions and the cycle will continue. But there is always the possibility that they could actually make a good game. So we will wait and see.

So...bad AI is what defines your opinion on how good or bad a game is in terms of gameplay ?

If what was shown of CryEngine 3 is any indication, the island setting will no longer be the only setting. Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the first game, I also would like to see more variety in what environments are concerned.

That isn't AI ;)

Crysis doesn't have a realistic or even predictable damage system, so you can't really leap into it thinking you're playing Rainbow Six just because there are tactical elements to the gameplay. As far as the shooting is concerned, Crysis is an arcade shooter.

He must be grossly exaggerating. Even when using silenced assault rifle that cant kill worth a damn at a long distance with body shots, it can still instantly kill any Korean with 1 swift blow to the head. I've used them to snipe down snipers all the time. The only explanation is that he thought he did 6 headshots but missed all of em.

Yes. Its one of the defining features of a good game. Think about reading a book, if the characters in the book were poorly described and not very interesting you probably wouldn't read the whole thing. Same formula with games, not just the main character needs to be interesting but enemy you are fighting as well.

Wow alot of people are butthurt over crysis not working on their outdated machine.

Grow up, the game was awesome and just because it didn't run off your P4+7600gt doesnt mean it sucks.

Stop basing it off the yahtzee review and actually play the game.

I don't have a P4 nor do I have a 7600gt... I beat the game. AND IT STILL SUCKS!. You can shine up a turd all you want, but at the end of the day its still a turd.

It seems as if this entire sub-forum has been reduced to some sort of elaborate contest to see who can say this exact same phrase in as many threads as possible. When the hell did this happen?

When PC gaming stopped being about bleeding edge technology and started being about pandering to the consumer.
