I have a 19" Hitachi CRT, that is connected to my 9800pro, which has s-video, my question is, how do I connect my monitor's display to my television using S-video?

Is it a cable I can buy from circuit city or bestbuy? It would have to be around 10-15ft long to reach my television.

You can get an ATI All-In-Wonder card that combines graphics performance and the ability to input/output video. The latest All-in-Wonder(AIW) card is the AIW 9800 Pro, which actually gets the same ratings as the standalone 9800 Pro. Other solutions usually cost $100-200 like a usb adapter or capture card from companies like Pinnacle or Haugpauge(I think that's the spelling).

However the AIW 9700 Pro and 9800 pro have HDTV(Component cable/progressive scan) output.

So what you're trying to say is my 9800Pro cannot do it? Although it comes with S-Video out?
 
If you are just trying to hook up your video card to your TV thats pretty easy.

Just get you an S-video cable and hook it up = ) you can also find some S-video to RCA adapters if you need that.

The quality will be poor because max resolution your TV displays, unless it is HD of course, is probably 800x600 or `1024x768
 
Ok, well.. I have my TV setup as a secondary display to my laptop through the s-video cable and it looks like booty. What I dont understand is that my tv is capable of ALOT better picture than what I am getting from my comp... So maybe the problem IS that my tv is incapable of displaying a good resolution, but then why does it look crystal clear on my dvd player?

Well typically DVDs are formated to display a certain way, whichever resolution they are desgined to run in. While, your pc is capable of many, but the main problem is the pixel size and text. If you played a movie or anything with large parts the display is not that bad, the problem is when you get down to things like text which are made up of tiny pixels which your TV has a hard time displaying.

I know there is a better explanantion than this, but I cant really think of it. One thing though don't expect to be running a high resolution on S-video, you will need a different type of medium, such as a DVI input on the back on your TV.
