Looked around the forums and google'd a bit but no love...anyone know if any company is still producing CRT's of good quality...FW900's or the like?

ask bluefox what he has. I don't know if it's still in production but it's a 90lb 1080p beast

kinda surprised that someone isn't doing them at least for the photo retouching/digital artist crowd...I'm thinking of getting one for general use....guess I'll just have to track down a used one online and hope for the best.

Yeah, it's too bad they're all gone. There really is no demand I guess, and most people believe lcds (mainstream) are perfect image quality wise. Why is it that crt monitors die out earlier than crt tvs? I've noticed those tvs go on and on without losing much.

i assume higher resolutions and refresh rates are the cause.

Those people have moved over to the high end NEC and Eizo LCD monitors with built in hardware calibration.

It's the FW900. To answer the original question however, the only CRTs still produced are going to cost you an arm and leg as they are mainly for television production and the likes. You're paying for lots of things that you won't be using. SDI, serial control, etc all come to mind.

Alright, well thanks to you guys in the know. Anyone got any ideas to how much I should expect to pay for something like a used FW900 and anything I should pay attention to in order to make sure it's still in good working order?
