5 year old Viewsonic 19" CRT is having issues. The bottom half of the screen goes black (kind of splotchy, but mostly black) and the top half of the screen gets kind of wavy. I thought it might be the vid card but have ruled that out. I got a new monitor and it works fine on my system. Best guess please. Is this a salvageable situation, or should I write her off? But mainly, what does one do with a dead monitor? It couldn't be good to add it to a landfill, but I have no room for it here. Thanks.

Was it an A90? I think mine is on its last leg. I'm getting wavy lines towards the sides and every now and then the entire screen wobbles every so slightly.

Its time for either a 2405 or P234.

It was an E790b. I now made the LCD plunge. Stayed with Viewsonic and got a 20" VP201s. I really like it, but I still miss the ol' CRT, it had been in the family a while and was my first "good" monitor.
