Looking for something that will let me put out from the 6ch analog outputs (ALC889A) onboard HD audio as crossover channels. Even 3 channel.
aka Active crossover output from onboard sound.
It can just be a foobar plugin like foobar_dsp_crossover Or do I have to look to ASIO stuff for this? Rather have the whole system output the audio that way.
For the curious it's so I can use plain jane separate amps and speakers for diff freq ranges (like in car audio). Actually thats exactly what I want it for. It would eliminate 3 pieces of equipment if it could handle equalization, time delay, and crossover. I don't want a separate component to do this - space is a premium.
I also don't want to get started on the onboard audio sucks bandwagon, if it ends up bad I can just revert to digital out to a DAC. After all its just stereo.
Would work something like: Front L/R reassigned to "Front - hipass -24db/octave at 3000hz", Side L/R reassigned to "Front - bandpass -18db/octave lo60hz hi3200hz" Rear L/R reassigned to "Sub - lopass - 80hz".
