CrossfireX with Catalyst 8.3 problems

Guys forgive me I'm new to ATI cards since x1900xtx. I just loaded up the Catalyst 8.3 in Vista 32 with two 3870x2's on an X38 board. DX10 apps look like crap, almost like they're interlaced or something. Something's not right. Is this a known thing with an easy fix?
 
Did you do an upgrade over the old drivers or did you uninstall, clean and then install the new ones? I had to uninstall everything, clean, and then install the 8.3 drivers in order for them to work correctly.

So I take it you ditched the SLI rig??
 
Yep I'm ditching SLI this time.

I did a full uninstall and a fresh reinstall. It's really weird, DX9 looks and runs great but DX10 is graphically glitchy and it looks like it's got scanlines or something. I tried all the MS DX10 mgpu hotfixes.
 
I think Tom's Hardware found a problem with the 8.3 drivers and Crossfire X they reverted back to the 8.2 version while testing out the crossfire technology with an onboard ATI GPU (some new AMD boards coming out).
