I'm playing a game, Project Cars, in a pre alpha state of development that I'm 100% sure doesn't have a CrossfireX profile. Sometimes I start it up and both of my 7950's kick in and sometimes I only get one GPU working. I have the check in "Enable Crossfire for applications that don't have a profile." What do I need to do to entice Catalyst to enable CrossfireX every time I launch the game? To get it to work I simply relaunch the game, but I was looking for a better solution. Maybe some of the RadeonPro gurus here can set me on the right path.
I use Open Broadcaster Software to stream and I transcode my stream in real time using OpenCL. If I were to purchase a 3rd 7950, can I dedicate it to transcoding? I know there are other specialized solutions for doing so, but these 7950's are just darn good at it! Also a 7950 is just faster than a dedicated solution like an Avermedia C985. I can transcode 1080p 60 fps on my machine already, but I have to lower my settings which of course makes me sad. I would be downgrading if I got the Avermedia as it caps at 1080p 30 fps. Newer games like BF4 are utilizing 93% - 98% of my cards so it's getting harder to transcode on the GPU as they are already stressed.
As you can see I'm not complaining about CrossfireX as it works great doing normal things. Trying to be more of a power user as this is [H]ardocp.
If the AMD rep happens to glance at this thread, tell the home office to make sure that Kaveri can transcode 1080p 60 fps on it's GPU. I'd like 8 Steamroller cores + GPU in the future for multimedia purposes like this.
