Hey all, first post here but I've searched high and low for any info on this problem and haven't managed to find a thing.
I have 2x Eyefinity HD5870 2GB in this rig, although I'm currently only running a single monitor. Whenever I boot/reboot my rig, there's about a 50% chance (seemingly) that Windows will load without the AMD display drivers. Everything else works fine when this happens, my resolution is simply dropped to default as if you turned the PC on for the first time, pre-driver install.
When I first encountered this problem, I tried cleaning the old drivers out and doing a fresh driver install, which didn't have any effect. The only way to boot my PC properly is to cross my fingers that I get a "good" boot, OR remove the card in the second motherboard slot. It seems to run perfectly fine with a single GPU, which I have been doing for a solid week now with absolutely no problems. Whatever is causing this has to be crossfire related or related to motherboard. Maybe a faulty PCIe slot?
My specs are as follows... any help you guys could provide is much appreciated.
i5 2500k
Asus P8P67 Deluxe (Rev 3.0)
2x Sapphire Radeon HD5870 2GB Eyefinity edition
12GB Kingston HyperX DDR3
OCZ Vertex SSD
two Seagate Barracuda 1TB drives
Kingwin LZ-1000 PSU
