crossfire with different cards

I have a sapphire hd4870, which is discontinued now, which makes me a little uneasy, but hopefully will be fine, working great so far. but now to get crossfire I'd have to use a different card, prob the visiontek. does it matter if I'm using different card manufacturers, as far as I know it does'nt?
