Would testing Crossfire with different architectures ruin any of the cards or the motherboard? for example, trying to Crossfire a 4800 series with a 3800 series, or Crossfire-ing the 3000 and 4000 series "X2" cards...Some people claim to have successfully Crossfired a HD 4870 X2 with a HD 2600 XT, but with almost no performance gains...

try it and see what happens, i don't see it damaging a damn thing. I've been thinking about trying it with a 3870 and a 4870x2.

The Thing is...i have both the 4870X2 and a 2600XT that people crossfired, even though i know i wont get any gains, its just fun...experimenting...:p
