Crossfire Questions

I'm going to be building a new rig over this summer as I've got a VERY nice amount of cash comming my way.

Planned System:

P4 920D (as a hold-over until Core CPUs are out)
Asus P5WD2-E Premium
2GB Corsair RAM
2x X1900XT in Crossfire
etc...

Here's my question though: What cards do I need? SLI is pretty simple, it's two cards that are the same and you're good-to-go. With Crossfire I know you need a master card and a slave card, but I can't actually find anything labelled as a Crossfire Mastercard. Is the "Crossfire Edition" the "master card" for the setup? If so, can I just toss an X1900XT in there with it and they will work?

I'll be getting Sapphire cards, most likely from either zipzoomfly.com or newegg.com.

Any input on this matter is much appreciated. :)

Should work. I dont see why.

Yup. Get the X1900XT and the X1900 Crossfire Edition and you'll be good to go~!

Great, thanks alot for the info. I had been told the same thing by a friend of mine, I just wanted to confirm it :)

Well I just recently installed a Crossfire setup myself. I noticed on my motherboard (Abit AT8 32X) was that I had to place the "crossfire edition" card on the bottom pci-express slot while the slave card was installed on the top pci-express slot. Then you have to enable "crossfire mode" option in the ATI control panel.

powercolor's (any more plz let me know) x1800gto cards works just like sli and u dont even need a bridge :)

All x1800 gto's should be abile to. But the ability to crossfire won't be enabled till catalyst 6.5's are out. Or so the rumor has it.
