Crossfire Profiles included in Catalyst Driver?

I was wondering if the previous Crossfire profiles are included in each successive driver update?

e.g. I just got 2x6970s, installed Hotfix 10.12a. Do I need to install the current ATI Catalyst Application Profiles (released on 12/3/2010, before Hotfix 10.12a was released).

guess i don't know for certain, but i always install the profiles too.
 
Yes they're included. There is no need to install app profiles unless the date is newer than the driver release date.

They're designed just so that you can update them alone if:

1) they have just some profile updates ready prior to the next driver launch so you don't have to wait up to a month to get them
2) you don't want the latest driver for some reason but you want the latest profiles so that you can use Crossfire with new games.
