CrossFire or not to Crossfire

After buying my Dell 3007 screen I'm thing about Crossfire
What do U guys think should i do it or not?
here is the twist obviously i have to buy a new board so the question is
should i go Conroe at the same time or save money and stick to my current setup AMD

I would wait and get one of those Conroe Badaxe motherboards that we saw with 3 ATI cards running on it.
2 for graphics and 1 for physics.
And Conroe has already been proven to release even more performance from top of the line cards.

I see a trifecta of C's on the way!

Conroe, CrossFire, and Corsair. Crazy. :eek:
 
If you have the funds, I'd say wait for Conroe. But if you don't want to buy everything that's involved then, just get a crossfire board and card and run with it.

I'm wondering if I Crossfire would be a benefit for myself right now, since I'm only using the Dell 2005fpws.
 
If I were you I'd wait for Conroe and a RD600 chipset motherboard and at that time go Crossfire.
 
Yeah, wait a month and see what the Conroe numbers look like. My guess is that since games at hi-res and max eye candy are rarely CPU that Core 2 Duo/Extreame (Conroe's retail name) isn't going to bring significant performance increases in that area, but I could be wrong.

Just like everyone, wait and see, its only a month, and you might see a good performance boost.
 
Overclocked Conroes can unleash about 4,000 more 3DMarks in 3DMark05, I can tell you that much.

Centvalny and OverclockingGuru have higher scores than the top score in the ORB right now because the ORB is
not allowing Conroe scores in.

However, this is 3DMark stuff, not game stuff. So yeah don't celebrate yet.
I wonder if Cent and OG have tested any games yet. We might have to PM them.
 
I'm going to wait for sure because all the new stuff its getting interesting Conroe and DX10 video cards, could be a long wait but at the end will be well worth it

Its the RS600 and SB600 chipset and I agree wait to see some reviews first. I would buy 1 X1900xt . Than when the R600 GPU's come out go to XF and move the X1900xt to the PPU slot.
 
You can either do crossfire x1900 or sell and get a GX2. the Gx2 is cheaper.
 
The RS 600 has one advantage over the RD600 in that you should beable to hook up 1 more monitor to it. Now I don't know if it is true but it was said at one time that the ATI onboard graphics can run while in XF . Not sure on this .
