I have been searching all over the internet for this, not much is found. All it says is Windows 7 wont support crossfire.

Please post here, only if you have sucessfully crossfired on windows 7 before. If so, post a screen shot of your catalyst control center or name what your driver version / card manufacturer is.

if win7 does not support crossfire it will be due to ATI/AMD's drivers not becuase of the OS

Great advice evan
He asked specifically about Windows 7.

Anyways, on topic! There's nothing that SHOULDN'T work about it since you can just uses Windows Vista drivers for your VC.

I hope they make Windows 7 worth the money. I'm planning to use Win Vista Sparrow version for my new pc.

How can they possible make us understand that it's normal a SO to be more expensive than 6gb of ddr3 ram? Insane

yes it does work.

Dell XPS 630i 2 x HD 3870 install old vista drivers first to get x-fire working then upgrage to the ATI beta drivers for 7 got it working on both 32 and 64 bit build 7000 for 32 and 7100 for 64.

could not work out how to upload a screenie but mail me and i will send it

had no trouble with 4850cf in windows 7 rc1 64bit. installed latest drivers and everything worked fine.

Give me a few minutes to jump over and I'll post screen shots. Didn't have any problems with my 4870x2 in RC1 and didn't have any problems with Win 7 7000. Running with 9.4 and no code 43, unlike Vista.

Hi All.

Got it working now with ATi Windows 7 drivers the issue with the genuine ATi drivers is that dell change the hardware ID of the video cards and they are not recognised correctly by the ATi installer.

I have resolved this issue by flashing the cards with the latest Sapphire HD3870 Bios (Sapphire.HD3870.512.080520.bin) using RBE_1.2.1 and the latest winflash (winflash2017.zip) this also has quite an improvement on performance of the cards, also the fan control is better and they run cooler.

Regards Waylander

Crossfire works fine in Windows 7.

I've been using it since the beta first released. ATI released Windows 7 Beta video drivers soon after the windows 7 beta released. This just made everything easier.

I have 4 2600XT's. 2 that went in my PC, and 2 that went in the GF's PC. Both have had the Windows 7 7000 Beta all the way to Release Candidate 1 with no issues thanks to ATI providing Windows 7 compatible drivers very early on.

Since the upgrade to X2's, the 2600XT's have been moved to my old gaming rig (the socket 939 box, where they originally came from) and its currently running a Windows 7 release past RC1...with Crossfire running just fine.

Maybe I'm lucky, but no BIOS updates or flashing was needed to accomplish this. Setup hardware, install OS, update video driver from ATI, game on.

This thread is 6 months old, we all know crossfire works in windows 7.
