Crossfire on SLI motherboards?

someone pulled off crossfire using an Intel chipset....but I don't have time to google the link up.

It'd be nice if that was possible though..

whats limiting the SLI compatible motherboards from running crossfire?

Someone got CFire to work on a Intel NF4 board, with a particular ATI driver.... early beta for X1800 family?

There is NO TECHNOLOGICAL reason that CFire on SLI and SLI on CFire shouldnt just work. Only deliberate driver prohibition can stand in the way. That is the chioce of NV and ATI respectively, the CHOOSE to make it hard on thier own customers.

Nope ATI supports it on a 955x chipset: http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2005/08/24/ati_crossfire_955x_intel/

Also the upcoming 957x chipset will support both SLI and Crossfire:
