I am currently looking into upgrading my graphics capabilities. I currently have a HD3870 and I was wonder what your thoughts may be about upgrading. I was thinking of getting another HD3870 for crossfire since there like a 100 bucks now. Will I get a jump in performance that is worth it? I only play COD4 and now COD5 beta. I notice a little more jittering in COD5 so that's why I am looking to upgrade. Will a single 4870 be a better choice. Any other suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.:p

Do you have a crossfire motherboard?
If no, then forget crossfire, it would be too expensive and too much work to upgrade.
I think a 4870 would be a much better choice. Sometimes even a 4850 is as fast as a 3870x2 so there is another option depending on what you want to spend.

a single 4870 1gb will be much faster. a single 4850 for about 130 would still be better. forget the 3870. its not a bad card if you don't use AA but for a hundred bucks there is not point in not upgrading to a 4850.

FTW indeed. Ordered an Asus HD4870 1GB. Can't wait to break it in.

Good Choice. FWIW if you hadn't ordered I would told you 1680x1050 or less go the 4850, 1920x1200+ go for the 4870. Either way the 4870 will serve you well

4870 x2 (probably much more than you need) > 4870 1G (optimal) > 4850 1GB (get the 4870 1GB instead) > 4850 512mb (great mid-range bang-for-the-buck card) > 4830, 4670, etc.

Good choice with the 1GB 4870.
