if i have an a8n-SLi Deluxe, will ATi be so kind as to let me keep my mobo but use their x1600 CrossFire solution?



BTW: Has anyone been to the new x1k series websites? i LOVE that music! i wish i could have it play in the background all the time.

Currently only a "crossfire edition" ATI motherboard will work and none have been released yet.

This maybe offtopic here..but check your cache on your system for the song..i maybe there inless it's a flash video...(i donno myself since i don't go there)

But if it's in a flash video, you can extract it from the video.

other than that..yes currently we don't know if the X1K's will run on a NF4 board...

I myself don't know how many people will give up there proven NF4 for a UNPROVEN ati mobo

I wouldn't worry about the x1600 series in crossfire yet, mainly because they weren't released. I dunno when ATi is actually going to get master cards out either for the x1XXX series either. ATi would probably not allow their cards to work on a nf4 board.

Yeah that is one of the reasons I will not be getting crossfire.

i don't think its up to ati if crossfire will work in a SLi board or not, i believe thats nvidia's market, same with SLi working on CF

also, i remember reading many articles stating that nvid sli can be run in a crossfire board, but because of present circumstances, this seems to be a poot moint. so i am not sure if the 1600 series will run in your particular board, but they will definitely run in certain other sli boards, of which my pos is not included.

intel is, i think, the only mobo that can run crossfire on an sli board because it's using the ULi chipset. and its more based on display drivers rather than NF4/ATi chipset

New ATi motherboards seem to have the ULi M1573 South Bridge (this also explains the lack of ATi motherboards and CF cards), but I feel that nVidia and ATi would feel more confident giving support to a more neutral ground (Intel's 975 chipset) for both their multi-GPU solutions.
